What began as an unexpected turn in his career has evolved into a passion for creating memorable culinary experiences. Chef Matthew Howell is a Barbadian chef, entrepreneur and the driving force behind Smok’d N Spice, a growing culinary brand built around bold flavours, creativity and a genuine love for food.

Legacy in the making!

Today, Chef Howell continues to build his reputation through Smok’d N Spice, delivering culinary experiences that bring personality, flavour and a distinctly Barbadian touch to every plate. His experience includes catering for private clients and organisations, while balancing entrepreneurship with professional opportunities within the hospitality industry. In 2024, Matthew was selected as one of ten finalists in the ‘Feed The Future’ Junior Chef Cook-Off Competition, an initiative designed to develop and showcase emerging culinary talent in Barbados.
